InstaCare trip

So Monday March 18th, we were supposed to meet up with my family for dinner to celebrate all the birthdays between March 14th and 18th. There are 3 so we were all planning to go, when Carson who had been sick with everything since the beginning of February, started throwing up.  So we dealt with that and had my sister-in-law foot zone him and then headed home. We got home and Connor got home from work and he started throwing up again. So we headed to instacare. Thank goodness there was no one there. I did not want to deal with crazy sick boy in the waiting room forever. He thought the mask was hilarious but he didn't like to leave it on! Well they tested him for RSV since he had it last year and already this year. They also tested for Whooping Cough and did a chest x-ray to check for bronchitis and pneumonia. Well they all came back looking good. They put him on a steroid and inhaler since he had been sick for so long. Lets just say the inhaler is useless on a little boy. He fought it and fought it like crazy! The steroid seemed to help a little.

So after instacare we went home and had our dad's give him a blessing! Well that's when the fun started. He did great that night, but the next night at about midnight he woke up throwing up. It was mixed with a bunch of mucus so it smelled terribly. He was up pretty much all night and threw up so many times! He was miserable and of course we were too. We made him an appointment with his doctor for Thursday that week and took him in. He had been having diarrhea since the beginning of February as well so we figured we should cover all our bases while we were there.
So he took a look at him and said everything looked good. He gave him this amazing diaper rash cream to help and put him on an antibiotic to try and get rid of whatever he had that was making him sick and not going away. He told us that the diarrhea he had been having should not be from milk seeing as he has milk products all the time and a milk based formula. So he told me to continue using them. So we did. His diarrhea still did not improve so we called them a week later and they told us to use a probiotic to help. It has helped a ton. It has been 2 weeks since he has been on it and I don't dare take him off it seeing as he had diarrhea diapers if i do. He is feeling so much better and doesn't even have a cough anymore. I am so glad that it is better and he is normal and functioning. He is getting 4 top teeth at once so he is ornery but he is doing so much better.
